Information and familiarisation materials, so your child can show themselves at their best.

Used by 160+ independent and grammar schools.

The Tonbridge School assessment

The Tonbridge School assessment is computer-based, covering four subjects over 80 minutes.

These assessments are designed in partnership with Quest, for candidates sitting Provisional Exams for 13+ entry in Year 7, Late Entry exams in Year 8, and 14+ entrance exams for Tonbridge School. The subjects are as follows:

  • English (30)
  • Verbal Reasoning (10)
  • Mathematics (30)
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning (10)

The assessment timings and structure are the same for each entry point, but it is not the same exam, as each one is designed to be age appropriate.

Sections are largely multiple choice and do not require typing or keyboard skills. The assessment adapts in difficulty based on your child's answers, except in English, where the difficulty is fixed.

In addition to the above computerised assessments, pupils will be asked to complete a free-form Creative Writing Assessment in response to a given essay title.
