The St Helen and St Katharine assessment

The St Helen and St Katharine Quest assessment is computer-based.

11+ entry

6 subjects over 105 minutes:

  • English (30 minutes)
  • Verbal Reasoning (10 minutes)
  • Maths (20 minutes)
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning (10 minutes)
  • Puzzles and Problem Solving (15 minutes)
  • Creative Comprehension (20 minutes)

Sections are largely multiple choice and do not require typing or keyboard skills. Maths, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning adapt in difficulty based on your child's answers. Creative Comprehension, English and Puzzles and Problem Solving are fixed difficulty.

Candidates also sit paper-based Maths (one hour) and English (one hour 15 minutes, including a creative writing task), and attend a taster day with an individual interview and group activities.

  • Closing date for applications: 30 October 2026
  • 11+ entrance assessments: 16 January 2027

13+ entry

3 subjects over 40 minutes:

  • Verbal Reasoning (10 minutes)
  • Maths (20 minutes)
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning (10 minutes)

Sections are largely multiple choice and do not require typing or keyboard skills. All sections adapt in difficulty based on your child's answers.
